It was too bad he gave into his paranoia and played his hidden immunity idol at tribal council when he didn’t receive a single vote. And with Laura sliding by this week, it looks like she’ll be gunning for him during the next tribal.
That just proves that Russell’s instincts were right — which is why I think I like him so much. He knows which players talk too much and who’s too conniving, and he tries to cut them loose as soon as possible. Did you see the way his eyes widened the second Shambo called Laura a “bitch”? He’s able to pick up on the social dynamics of the group and doesn’t run around screaming his findings to everyone else.
Sadly, I think his luck may run out before he has a chance to prove he’s the ultimate “Survivor” player he claims to be.

There’s no doubt latimesblogs has made short work of russels nature. In Russel we find a full grown man who is socially keen with little consternation for other survivor’s designs on the samoan million. You’re either with russel or against russel and he’s likely to take careful note of the latter while not wasting time on the former – except to write them into as support for a russel plot line. Unless laura wins immunity again, four foa + shambo + john should be the remedy to russel’s woes. Dave’s plot to continue to divide the merged tribe echos of miscalculations made by erik, so it’s possible dave is open to a massive flame-out soon by foot-in-mouth if he keeps trying to interfere with john’s game outcomes for laura. If Laura really feel’s she’s like a fit Sarah Palin (see her bio) then she should be using fitness to run from John who McCan send this Palin-imitator for a vacation with hoss, pa, hop sing, and little joe.
