Orlando Sentinel – The TV Guy – Survivor: And the winner is …

Evil Russell is not happy about losing to Natalie.

The durable CBS series, in its 19th edition, was lucky to have devious Russell Hantz in the mix. He was to this “Survivor” what J.R. Ewing was to “Dallas.”

Win-at-all costs Russell made it all the way to the finale. He was the fans’ favorite and collected $100,000. But he lost the game to unemployed ally Natalie White, who won $1 million. She will collect her money on Monday’s “Early Show.” Mick Trimming, a physician, was the third player in the final.

There were hard feelings on the live reunion show. Russell, an oil company owner, was visibly upset that he didn’t win.

“I feel like I played the best strategic game in history,” Russell told host Jeff Probst. “I can guarantee you millions of people probably think that same thing.”

Well, maybe not all the way. Probst questioned the jury and revealed that Russell could have won if he had taken other players with him to the finals.

Russell should have been the all out winner for the season, why should a blond bimbo win just for riding his coattail and looking pretty!

Great Survivor season. Go #19. One of the, if not the best Survivor season since the game began. The jury were sore losers. What Foa Foa did to Galu was nothing short of phenomenal. The blindsides were kept coming and no one spared. Great theatre! TV worth watching. Survivor worth watching. Shambo, at the finale, let bygones be bygones, Laura on the other hand is a bitter ol bitty despite the outer facade. This season was a learning experience for Russell…fine tuning the master. If he is on ‘Villians v. Heroes’ I anticipate a good time on Thursday nights watching a wiser, more finely tuned, Russell, the ultimate Survivor gamer.

After YEARS of being a faithful Survivor follower, this is the LAST season I will EVER watch! A great series ruined by a bunch of whiners who vindictively picked the wrong winner because they were “outplayed” by Russel. The man found idols without clues, won an immunity challenge, and played the game as it has always been played. It has always been about deception as well as physical and mental skill, so for him not to have won is a dishonor to the spirit of the show. Maybe Survivor should do as other shows and have America vote for the winner, not the cry-baby losers!
